David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Best-selling writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
