Donald Trump has called off preparations for a deployment of government forces to the Bay region that had provoked broad criticism from California leaders and brought demonstrators flooding into the public areas.
Area Anxiety Over Reported National Operation
The area had been on edge after reports circulated that the leadership was poised to send approximately 150 CBP and additional officers to the government installation in the East Bay, as part of a major legal compliance operation.

However, the chief executive announced he would not proceed with a “surge” of national agents in the area after conversing with the local official, Daniel Lurie, and Silicon Valley figures including tech executive and technology leader.
“In that conversation, the president informed me clearly that he was calling off all arrangements for a national operation in San Francisco,” Lurie commented in a statement.
